The MedicCast
Children below the preschool age are very prone to poisoning because of their curiosity and their habit of putting things into their mouths. For EMS providers to be ready to respond to such emergencies, this week's episode of the MedicCast features pediatric poisonings with tox specialist Lisa Booze of the Maryland Poison Center, which covers the common chemicals and medications that cause poisoning in children, immediate management of poisoning, and preventive measures that could be done to eliminate the risk of accidental child poisoning at home. The show also offers news for providers and links for follow up on this week's feature.
