The final of three MedicCast Episodes recorded at EMS Expo 2010 in Dallas Texas, this show featured a discussion with three of the top proponents in the U.S. for Community Paramedicine programs. Host Jamie Davis, the Podmedic, was able to bring to in Chris Montera, Chief of the Western Eagle County Ambulance District (also host of the EMS Garage podcast), Eagle County Colorado public health nurse manager Anne Robinson, and Gary Wingrove, one of the founders and organizers of the International Roundtable on Community Paramedicine (IRCP.info).

In this very special episode of the MedicCast, Jamie Davis, the Podmedic hosts a panel discussion with some online EMS leaders and a special guest supplied by Philips corporation which included a very informative discussion on the different EMS system approaches to handling STEMI, Non-STEMI and other acute coronary syndromes.

On the show was special guest Jeff Sundseth, Director of Emergency Medical Services for Pearland, Texas and talk about some of the exciting options that his Philips cardiac monitors provide for the treatment and care of ACS patients in his system including some interesting gender based algorithms for identifying STEMI in patients.

International Rountable on Community Paramedicine Presentation

EMS Toxidromes Review

In suspecting toxicological cause for a patient's illness, EMS providers often inspect the patient's home for empty pill bottles or chemical containers to find the possible substance that might have been ingested. In cases where such evidence is unavailable, careful history taking and assessment of the signs and symptoms presented by the patient would be key to identification of the substance.
